Looking for a Vanilla Rust Server?
Here is what Scarab Rust actually offers, and it is not vanilla. Here is why, and which of our servers fits you best.
If you searched for a vanilla Rust server, you are probably after one thing: the original, unmodified Facepunch experience, with official gather rates, no custom kits, no shortcuts, just the raw game the way it shipped. That is a completely fair thing to want, and it is worth being upfront about something before you read any further: Scarab Rust does not run a vanilla server. We are not going to pretend otherwise or bury that fact under marketing language. What we run instead is a 2x server and an Aim Train server, and we think there is a real chance one of them actually solves the problem that sent you searching for vanilla in the first place.
Here is the thing about vanilla Rust that most players do not say out loud until they have sunk two hundred hours into it: the appeal is the authenticity, but the cost is time. Official rates mean hours of node farming before you touch a decent gun, and that trade only makes sense if you have the hours to spend. A lot of players search for vanilla because they associate it with a slower, more deliberate pace and a server that has not been warped by weird plugins, not because they specifically enjoy punching a rock for forty minutes.
Two servers, two different reasons people search for vanilla
If it's the slower, fair pace you want
Our 2x server keeps everything about vanilla that actually matters, the building, the raiding, the risk, the same mechanics, just without doubling as a part-time job. It runs on a weekly wipe, and the exact time for each region is published on that server's page.
If it's the pure mechanical skill ceiling you want
Our Aim Train server strips away building and farming entirely and gives you custom arenas built for PvP practice. It is not vanilla Rust and it is not trying to be, but if your real complaint is that combat feels unfair or gimmicky elsewhere, this is where you fight on completely even footing.
No pretending
We are not going to tell you our 2x server is vanilla, because it is not, and a community built on straight talk should not pretend it is something it isn't. What we can tell you is that both servers are built by people who actually play Rust, hosted close enough to you that ping is not a fight of its own, and wiped on a schedule that respects your weekend rather than someone else's. If official rates and mods-free purity matter more than anything else, keep looking. If what you actually want is a fair, well-run, regionally hosted server with a community that speaks your language, we are worth a look.
Frequently asked questions
No. We run a 2x server and an Aim Train server. If pure official rates are non-negotiable for you, we are not the right fit, but if you want a fair, regionally hosted alternative, our 2x server is the closest match.
Because we think most players searching for vanilla actually want a fair, unmodded-feeling experience with a real community and low ping, not specifically the doubled farming time official rates require. Our 2x server delivers the same core mechanics with less dead time.
Our 2x server. It keeps vanilla's building, raiding, and combat mechanics intact and only changes gather rates, so progression feels familiar but faster, on a weekly wipe cycle.
