Rust 2x Server for the Middle East
Faster gather rates, the same raid-and-defend core of Rust. UAE-hosted, built around the regional weekend.
If you have ever quit a vanilla Rust wipe on day two because you spent four hours punching trees instead of playing the actual game, you already understand why 2x servers exist. A 2x rate does not turn Rust into an arcade shooter. It just removes the part of the grind that punishes people with jobs, school, or a life outside the game. You still farm, you still build, you still get raided at 3am by someone who clearly does not sleep. You just get there faster.
Scarab Rust is building a 2x server around that idea, hosted in the UAE so players across the Gulf and wider Middle East get low-latency ping instead of routing through servers in Europe or the US. The wipe cycle runs weekly, every Friday at 17:00 GST, which lines up with the regional weekend rather than a schedule built for a different time zone. That matters more than it sounds. A wipe that lands mid-week when everyone is at work or in school just means the server sits half empty for the first two days, and the whole point of a fresh wipe is that people show up for it.
Who actually wants a 2x server? Mostly players who have done the vanilla loop enough times that the early grind stopped being fun and started being a chore. It also suits groups that want a full progression arc, stone tools to AKs to raiding, but compressed into a weekend instead of stretched across two weeks. If you are brand new to Rust, a 2x server is still a reasonable place to start, since it teaches the same base-building, combat, and resource-management fundamentals as vanilla without the long dead time at the start of a wipe.
What a 2x server does not do is remove risk. Raiding still costs resources, PvP still has consequences, and a well-built base still matters. The difference is in pacing, not in stakes. That is the balance we are aiming for: a server where progression feels rewarding within a normal person's schedule, populated by a community that actually speaks your language and plays in your time zone.
Built for the region, not just translated for it
2x gather rate
Wood, stone, metal, and other resources gather at double the vanilla rate. Crafting costs and mechanics stay the same, so progression feels familiar, just faster.
Weekly Friday wipe
Every Friday at 17:00 GST, timed to the regional weekend so your whole team can actually be there for the opening hours.
UAE-hosted
Low-latency ping across the Gulf and wider Middle East, instead of routing through servers in Europe or the US.
Scarab Rust's 2x server is coming soon. We are not live yet, so there is no IP to hand out and no player counts to brag about, but the plan is set: UAE hosting, a weekly Friday 17:00 GST wipe, and a rate built to respect your time without turning the game into easy mode. If you want to be part of the first wipe rather than joining an established server three weeks in, this is the one to watch.
Frequently asked questions
It is a server where gather rates for wood, stone, metal, and other resources are doubled compared to vanilla Rust. Crafting costs and game mechanics stay the same, so the core loop of building, raiding, and fighting is unchanged, but you spend less time on repetitive early-game farming.
Friday afternoon lines up with the regional weekend across most of the Gulf, so players are actually free to jump in for the opening hours of a fresh wipe instead of missing the rush because they are at work.
Yes. It teaches the same fundamentals as vanilla, building, combat, resource management, but with less dead time in the early game, which makes it easier to stick around long enough to see what makes Rust interesting.
