Rust force wipe
The one wipe no server controls. Facepunch ships the monthly update and every server in the game clears its map at the same moment.

What a force wipe actually clears
The map regenerates, so every base, every stash and every tool cupboard on it is gone. Your inventory goes with it. What survives is anything the server keeps outside the map: your account, your rank, your stats and your season history.
Blueprints are the exception people get wrong. They are not cleared by default on a force wipe, and whether they go is a separate decision. How blueprint wipes work.
Why the first Thursday
Facepunch ships Rust's monthly update on the first Thursday of each month, and the update forces the wipe. It is not a schedule any server chooses, which is why every Rust server in the world wipes within the same hour and why the population spike is so sharp.
The instant is set in United States eastern time, so the UTC hour shifts by one when the US changes its clocks. The dates on this site are computed from that rule rather than typed in, so they stay correct through those shifts.
How to actually use it
The first few hours of a force wipe are the most competitive of the month. Everyone starts naked, the good base spots go in minutes, and a team that is online at the start plays a different wipe from one that joins the next morning. If you can only make one wipe a month, make it this one.
Servers usually also wipe on their own weekly cycle between force wipes. Those are set per server and are listed on the server's own page.
