Terms of service

These terms govern your access to Scarab Rust game servers, websites, and any related commerce or community features. Accessing or using them means you agree to follow these terms and any posted rules. If you use the services on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for them.

• Break any applicable law or regulation.
• Exploit bugs, cheat, evade bans, or run unauthorized tools, scripts, or macros.
• Harass, threaten, dox, or target anyone with abuse.
• Spread malware or disrupt servers, including DDoS or other network abuse.
• Impersonate Scarab Rust staff or other players.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the services, or use bots or automation against them, without our written permission.
• Try to get around moderation or enforcement actions.

We may remove content or restrict access at our discretion to keep players and the service safe.

Keep your registration details accurate and your credentials private. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, and you need to tell us promptly about unauthorized access or security issues. You must meet the minimum age for your region and any platform rules, such as Steam's. We may suspend or terminate an account at our discretion, including for a breach of these terms or the rules.

All sales are final. We may issue a refund at our discretion, only for:

• A service that wasn't delivered because of a technical failure on our end
• A duplicate transaction
• An outage of a purchased entitlement lasting more than 48 hours

Refund requests must come within 7 days of purchase. A chargeback or payment dispute revokes what you purchased, not your account: the items and benefits you bought are removed and your account is permanently banned across our services. Virtual items and entitlements are a limited, revocable license, have no cash value, and can't be transferred or resold.

Breaking the rules can mean a temporary or permanent ban, losing in-game entitlements, feature restrictions, or account termination, without a refund. Enforcement decisions are final; limited appeals may be available through Discord.

You agree to our anti-cheat measures and to the collection of technical data needed to detect cheating, exploits, and unauthorized tools. That can include hardware or device identifiers, telemetry, and server-side analytics. Some enforcement may be automated; where an automated decision significantly affects you, you can ask for human review through an appeal.

All content, branding, code, and functionality on our services belong to Scarab Rust or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, adapt, reverse engineer, or redistribute any part of it without our written consent.

You keep ownership of the names, messages, and other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant Scarab Rust a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, moderate, and reproduce that content as needed to run and secure the services, enforce the rules, and keep records for safety and appeals. You are responsible for what you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.

We process information as described in our privacy policy, including gameplay telemetry, chat logs where applicable, and technical data, to operate, secure, and improve the services and enforce our rules.

The services are provided on an as-available basis. We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of them, including servers, features, wipes, or entitlements, at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and scheduled wipes, maintenance, and downtime are a normal part of the service.

The services are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not warrant that the services will be secure, uninterrupted, or free of errors, bugs, or harmful components, or that any content or entitlement will always be available. You use the services at your own risk.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Scarab Rust and its staff, operators, and volunteers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, progress, entitlements, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to the services, even if advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of what you paid us for the services in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Scarab Rust and its staff, operators, and volunteers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the services, your content, your breach of these terms or any posted rules, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

The services rely on third parties such as Steam, Discord, our payment processor, hosting providers, and third-party moderation providers. We do not control these services and are not responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies. Scarab Rust is an independent community and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios, the developer of Rust.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict of law rules. You agree to first raise any dispute with us in good faith through our support channels so we can try to resolve it. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of the United Arab Emirates will have exclusive jurisdiction, to the extent the law allows. Any claim must be brought within one year of the event that gave rise to it, or it is permanently barred.

These terms, together with our privacy policy and any posted rules, are the entire agreement between you and Scarab Rust about the services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these terms, but we may assign ours as part of a reorganization or transfer of operations. Sections that by their nature should survive, including purchases, intellectual property, the disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law, survive any termination of your access.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the revised version and update the date above. Using the services after a change means you accept the new terms.
